We have been putting a lot of seeds out for agoutis to move around for us, and we keep a camera trap up so we can see when our radio-collared agouti takes a seed. These cameras capture other critters as well, usually coming to taste the fruit. We were surprised when this camera turned up not one, but two, predators. First an ocelot walked by – then a jaguar!
This is the 3rd jaguar photo in the last 3 months, and shows that he’s hanging out. The spot patterns look the same as the photo from last month, so it must be the same indiviudal. This picture is from Barbour-Lathrop trailmarker 2, just a few 100m from the lab.
Where will it turn up next?
